Privacy Policy

In short

We collect as little as possible. The sections below describe what is processed, where, and for how long.

• Parts you can use without an account do not ask for anything that identifies you.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share it beyond what is listed here.

What we process

Depending on how you use the service:

• Technical logs: IP address, browser/device information, request time. Kept for security, abuse detection and debugging.
• On-device data: your preferences and entries stay in your browser's or phone's local storage and are not sent to us.
• Analytics: page views and general usage statistics, collected only if you consent.
• Advertising: advertising identifier and measurement data processed by the ad network, loaded only if you consent.

Why we process it

• To provide the service and keep it working.
• To keep it secure and prevent abuse and spam.
• To meet legal obligations.
• To understand which parts are used and improve the product.

Cookies and similar technologies

Apart from the technical cookies needed to run the service, we use none.

Analytics and advertising cookies run only after your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Third parties

We use these providers: Google Analytics, omnifetch, OpenStreetMap tile servers. Their own privacy policies apply.

Retention

• Technical logs are kept for at most 12 months, then deleted.
• On-device data stays with you; clearing app or browser data removes it.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction or deletion, object to processing, and lodge a complaint. Write to iletisim@muzegezgini.com.tr; we reply within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Server access is restricted and kept updated. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs we will inform affected users as required.

Museum passport and daily game data

The museums you mark in your passport, your game score and your streak are stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage). They are never sent to our server, we cannot see them, and they are not linked to any account.

The local storage keys we use are: mg:pasaport:v1 (passport), mg:oyun:v1 (daily game score and streak) and cookie-consent (your cookie choice). The omnifetch ad network keeps a single entry in your browser so it does not show you the same ad again; it sets no cookies.

Clearing your browser data also deletes your passport. To keep it, use the "Export" button on the passport page to download a JSON backup; that file stays on your device as well.

Map tiles

Map images are loaded from the OpenStreetMap tile servers. When a map opens, your browser sends requests directly to those servers, and the OpenStreetMap Foundation processes your IP address under its own privacy policy.
